Victoria has this little book and we love it. I forgot all about the book and until we came across it the other day and started reading it together. So I thought I would write them out and share them with all of you. It's a great way to look at Nursery Rhymes.
Something new to teach your kids...
Enjoy and have fun reading these to your little ones.
My Jesus Pocketbook of Nursery Rhymes by Cynthia Harvey Fletcher
Mary had a little Lamb,
His name I'm sure you know;
And everywhere that
Jesus went
His love was sure to flow.
Jack, beloving,
Jack, be kind:
Let your love for
Jesus shine.
Humpty Dumpty
sat on a wall,
Humpty Dumpty
had a great fall.
Don't be like Humpty
who fell and cracked-up
Let Jesus be your King
as you grow up.
Hickory, dickory, doek,
The mouse ran up the clock;
The time has come
To trust God's Son,
Hickory, dickory, dock.
Rub-a-dub-dub
Two kins in a tub,
It's Sunday morning,
Scrub, scrub, scrub.
Go to God's House,
Sing and pray,
And learn to seek
Jesus every day.
Little Miss Muffet
sat on a tuffet,
Eating her curds and whey.
She's afraid of a spider;
She needs Jesus inside her
To take all fear away.
Jack and Jill went up the hill
To fetch some Living Water,
Drank it down and saw
they'd found
Joy and Life ever after!
Wee Willie Winkie
runs through the town.
Upstairs and downstairs
in his nightgown;
Peeping in the window:
What does he see?
The children don't have
time for Jesus;
They're watching to much TV.
Pat-a-cake, Pat-a-cake,
baker's man,
Bake me a cake as fast
as you can;
Pat it and prick it,
and mark it with a J,
Let's celebrate Christmas
Which is Jesus' birthday!
Little Jack Horner
Sat in a corner,
But he won't share his pie.
If Jesus were there,
Jack would learn to share.
Why not give Him a try?
Little Bo-Peep
Has lost her sheep,
And so has Christ
The Good Shepher.
They wander away,
And hate to obey;
But Jesus seeks and
finds them.
Ole Ling Cole was a
merry ole soul,
And a merry ole soulwas he;
He sang at nine,
He sang at noon,
And he praised
the Lord did he.
Twinkle, twinkle,
little star,
How I wonder
what you are!
God has set you
up so high;
He has reached
below the sky.
He made you,
He made me too;
I'm His diamond,
Just like you.
